                      Vickers Viscount for FSFS/FS5.1
Use the Microsoft converters to make FS6 & FS98 versions

Dave McQueen and Tom Gibson present to you Ansett-ANA
Vickers Viscount 832 for Flight Simulator 5.1. An all new
simulation, it was manufactured in December, 1997.

Note for panel makers, or would-be panel makers for FS98
        conversions:
No instrument panel currently exists for the Viscount. If
anyone out there would like take on a project and fashion one
it would be very much appreciated.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
This version is for FS5.1 only. You may convert the airplane for use
with FlightSim for Windows 95 and FlightSim 98 using Microsoft's
converters. If you do not have the converter you may get the one you need at
Microsoft's game site at: http://www.microsoft.com/games/fsim/downloads.htm

You must have the converter installed in order to see cockpit instruments.

For FS5.1, copy the .air file to your PILOTS directory, and all .*af
files to your TEXTURE Directory under the parent FlightSim 5.1 directory
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Viscount sim flies like a truck, banks very slowly and has a high approach
speed. You will need practice to land this airplane successfully. Flight dynamics for this simulation were tweaked from those made by
Wilber Williams and Ross Gridley in their Viscount 700/700D projects.

The Viscount 800 series was initiated in 1952 when an uprated Dart
turboprop became available. It was 13 feet longer than its model 700
older brother. The main visual difference besides the lengthened
fuselage was the use of rectangular doors over the oval ones on the
700s. The 810 series that this sim is modeled after was the last
development in the series. They had a max cruise speed of 365mph
(587kmh), 30 mph faster than the 700. Continental was first to order
the 810 in 1955 as model 812. They bought 15 examples. Other users
included South African, Lufthansa, Tran Australian, Cubana, VASP,
   All Nippon, and Ansett-ANA.

Designing this aircraft was a lot of work, but we did it just for the fun
of it. Feel free to share the Viscount files with your friends, but don't
sell them and don't pretend that you've made them.

Happy flying ...
